Housing in Woodhouse Park is enjoying a multi-million pound investment after transferring from Manchester City Council to Willow Park Housing Trust in October 2004. All homes and the facilities and environment around are seeing major improvements.
Moss Nook is very close to Wythenshawe civic shopping centre, with its food hall and market. The centre also includes the Wythenshawe Forum - a modern, welcoming, safe and accessible building at the heart of community life. State-of-the-art indoor leisure facilities include a swimming pool, gym, sports hall and fitness centre. There's a health centre, children's nursery, and job centre too. The Forum library has all the very latest facilities to give local people instant access to employment and learning opportunities.
There are regular buses to the city centre and a range of job opportunities at the rapidly-developing international airport, with 250 companies based there. As the airport expands it offers other employment in construction and hotels. The airport is keen to employ more local people as it grows. An extension to the Metrolink tram system could bring even more jobs in reach, with speedy trams to the city centre, the airport and other areas.
The nearest outdoor leisure facilities are at Painswick park in Woodhouse Park where there is football (with special facilities for juniors), a playground, fishing, 5-a-side, and lakeside walks. The nearest secondary school is Parklands High, next to Wythenshawe civic centre. There are three local primary schools, all at the eastern side of the area - The Willows schools (Tayfield Road), St Anthony's Catholic school (Dunkery Road), and Ringway school (Rosset Avenue).

Housing in Woodhouse Park
Most Woodhouse Park homes are rented from Willow Park Housing Trust, or are former-council homes that have been bought by the tenants. But nearly 30 per cent of homes are owner-occupied, with new private housing being built to increase local choices. There are nearly 1,500 Willow Park homes here - mostly built in the 1950s.
