Peel Hall is about nine miles south of the city centre. It is about a mile east of the M56 motorway, between Crossacres Lane and Simonsway. It’s a mile or so north of Manchester airport and close Wythenshawe centre. There's good access to the motorway network, and other areas of south Manchester and Cheshire. Living in Peel Hall
Most homes in Peel Hall are rented from Willow Park Housing Trust, a not-for-profit organisation that took over the housing from the city council in 1999. Willow Park has made big improvements to all local homes, the facilities and the environment.
Most homes in Peel Hall are close to the recently-improved Wythenshawe civic shopping centre, with its food hall and market. The centre also includes the Wythenshawe Forum, a modern, welcoming, safe and accessible building at the heart of community life; the place to come for leisure, learning and childcare. It includes a swimming pool, gym, sports hall and fitness centre, health centre, children's nursery and job centre. The modern Forum library has all the latest facilities to give local people instant access to employment and learning opportunities.
There are regular buses to the city centre. Public transport would be even better if the Metrolink tram system is extended to the nearby airport.
There is a range of job opportunities at the rapidly-developing international airport, with 250 companies based there. As the airport expands it offers other employment in construction and hotels. The airport is keen to employ more local people as it grows.
Homes in the north of the area are close to Hollyhedge park where there are football pitches, a bowling club, nature area and children’s play park. There are summer play sessions and an annual community open day there too. It’s about two miles to Wythenshawe park - one of the biggest and best in the city! There's a horticultural centre, pets corner, crazy golf, horse riding, bowling greens, pitch and putt, tennis courts an athletics track, football pitches and much more. More locally, Peel hall play park is right in the middle of the area.
Learning in Peel Hall
Most homes are less than a mile to Parklands High secondary school next to Wythenshawe civic centre. St Paul’s Catholic school is a further half mile away, over the motorway (by footbridge) in Newall Green. Younger children can go to St Elizabeth’s Catholic primary school on Calve Croft Road, Peel Hall school on Ashurst Road in the centre of the area, or to Crossacres primary school on Crossacres Road in the northern part.

There are lots of adult education courses at the Forum centre, and at the nearby Terry Dowling adult learning centre on Brownley Road.
