Area guide: Northenden
Northenden is about seven miles south of the City centre. Its
close to the motorway network so there's good access to Manchester Airport,
south Manchester and Cheshire.
Living in Northenden
Northenden village is a thriving centre, with a good range of shops,
bars, restaurants and banks. There is a library, post office, and other
amenities.
Theres excellent public transport with regular buses to the city centre,
the airport and other parts of south Manchester. Didsbury village, with more
shopping and leisure facilities, is about a mile and a half away.
Wythenshawe park - one of the biggest and best in the city - is just over
Princess Parkway. There are playing fields, open meadows and walks
throughout the Mersey Valley (on the other side of the motorway, reached by
footpath). The walk to Didsbury goes through one of three local golf
courses.
